Christopher Lee Garcia, 18, of Harlingen, Texas, was killed this past weekend when he crashed his motorcycle into a sport utility vehicle (SUV).
According to Harlingen Police, the motorcycle crash occurred near West Barcelona Avenue and Granada Street at around 3 p.m. this past Sunday. Garcia was riding his 1996 Honda motorcycle when he approached the intersection. Garcia failed to stop or even slow down at a stop sign, and collided with a 2002 Ford Expedition.
Garcia, who was not wearing a helmet at the time of the motorcycle accident, was transported to the Valley Baptist Medical Center emergency room. Despite frantic efforts from the medical staff to save his life, Garcia passed away from his personal injuries a few hours after the biker crash.
Harlingen Police indicated that no charges will be filed against the driver of the SUV involved in the fatal motorcycle accident.
