Police in Springfield, Massachusetts report that a 19 year-old motorcyclist, who was seriously hurt in a biker crash late on Monday, November 11, 2013, has passed away from his injuries at a Springfield hospital.
According to Sergeant John M. Delaney, of the Springfield Police, the 19 year-old motorcyclist entered the intersection of Myrtle Street and Worcester Street in the Indian Orchard neighborhood of Springfield, MA. At that moment, the biker was struck by a 2003 Dodge Durango sport utility vehicle, which knocked the rider off the motorcycle and threw him onto the pavement.
Emergency medical responders rushed the motorcyclist to the emergency room of a nearby hospital. Springfield Police report that despite the doctors’ efforts, the biker passed away from his personal injuries the next morning.
Springfield Police are investigating the circumstances of the unfortunate motorcycle accident. Criminal charges have not been filed.
