Police have identified 27 year-old Joel Constantineau, of Warwick, Rhode Island, as the man killed in a motorcycle accident with a truck this past Tuesday, May 21.
According to local Warwick, Rhode Island authorities, the biker crash occurred on Tuesday as Constantineau was traveling west on Main Avenue. Constantineau’s bike hit a truck that was exiting a gas station and merging into the roadway.
The driver of the truck, 58 year-old Sal Biscardi, also of Warwick, said that he had stopped his truck and that Constantineau may not have seen him.
Constantineau was transported to the Rhode Island Hospital emergency room after the biker accident, but was pronounced dead a short time later. Local authorities do not believe that he was wearing a helmet at the time of the motorcycle accident.
Biscardi was not injured in the wrongful death accident. He has been cited by police for failing to yield the right of way when entering from a private road or drive.
Authorities do not believe that speed or alcohol were factors in the fatal biker crash.
