Man Plans To Sue City Of Milwaukee After Streetcar Causes Motorcycle Accident.

Motorcyclists are often depicted a certain way in popular culture. In general, there is some aspect of thrill seeking attributed to a motorcyclist. After all, it is certainly a high-adrenaline activity. Weaving through much larger vehicles at high speeds, all the while lacking the protections offered by a car, is no doubt a riskier endeavor than other forms of travel. Nonetheless, motorcyclists are entitled to the same use of the road as anyone else. Because there are a relatively high number of motorcyclists on the road each day, it is important for state and local governments to account for them when implementing traffic safety laws, as well as infrastructure that could potentially create danger. When an injury does occur, it would be wise to contact an expert motorcycle accident attorney at 617-787-3700.

Milwaukee resident Aaron Henning was driving his motorcycle in downtown Milwaukee, just like any other day, when his tire suddenly got caught in something. Henning and his motorcycle reportedly slid 20 feet on the street, causing Henning to suffer a fractured elbow. It was not until after he suffered his injuries that Henning realized the accident had been caused by the tracks of “The Hop,” a famous streetcar in Milwaukee.

Now, Henning, who has been out of work for several weeks because of the accident, plans to sue the City of Milwaukee in the hopes of getting compensation for his injuries. In response to the accident, the city has noted that there is a plethora of information online that directs motorcyclists on how to avoid the tracks. Henning, however, believes that it is wrong that a biker should have to deal with such inconveniences. Henning will be represented by attorney Michael Hupy, President of Hupy and Abraham, S.C.
