In what appears to be a single-vehicle crash, a motorcycle accident in Antioch, California over the weekend has resulted in the 48 year-old motorcyclist being hospitalized in critical condition.
According to Antioch Police, the 48 year-old man was driving his motorcycle on the 1900 block of Calaveras Circle in Antioch, CA on the afternoon of this past Saturday, January 18, 2014, when he lost control of the vehicle and crashed. Emergency responders found the man lying on the road, some distance away from the motorcycle. He was unconscious and was immediately rushed to the emergency room of a nearby hospital.
Police released few details about the biker crash, but it appears that no other motor vehicles were involved. The motorcyclist was not wearing a helmet during the crash.
An investigation into the accident is under way, and the police have not ruled out that drugs or alcohol contributed to the motorcycle accident.
